How to create a unique environment or image that will get spotted immediately? How to transform old and no longer appealing space into something new and exciting? Color, or rather the use of single color all over may be the answer. Many designers and brands realize that monochromatic images have a very strong visual stylistics, are enjoyable, fresh and vivid, and can get them an edge in the market.

Color can be a statement and represent the characteristics of a given brand, create the mood. Single color space provides visual unity, often serves an escape in the world of dreams. Monochromatic schemes, also combined with elements in contrasting colors, are harmonious and work well as set design for displaying products. Schneid, German lighting and furniture design studio from Lübeck, knows that perfectly. They use color with new purpose and build set design around the colors of the products they present. Geometric and bold shapes of their fascinating objects in the setting of succulent colors, feel fresh, enlivening and have a strong aesthetics.

When applying the same color everywhere for a better and more dynamic effect contrasting elements can be introduced; textures, patterns, materials combined together, likewise color gradient, various geometrical forms and motifs. To visualize the effect I should mention The Daily Edited, a refined Melbourne flagship store by young design duo - Pattern Studio and the unusual New York Medly Pharmacy by Sergio Mannino Studio. Both spaces have been designed to represent two brands and accompany the e-commerce operations.
In TDE store, where undoubtedly pink is the hero, Norwegian rose marble, white terrazzo, and terracotta-tinged pink were introduced. Curved pink shapes, mild backlights, increase the volume of the space and create a sense of softness.

Medly Pharmacy, on the other hand, is in calming shades of green, with floor tiles designed by Jaime Hayon for Bisazza, pigmented concrete counter and elegant metal mesh at the back. Contemporary and elegant design with playful patterns, curved leather chairs corresponds to Memphis design aesthetics.
In monochromatic environments, single color ties together all interior components and makes the key design elements become focal points. Moreover, it makes the interior design feel consistent and evocative.
